3Good Idea, Poor ConstructionSep 19, 2009

On the plus side, the suction cup is easy to place and holds firmly.

It is big, sticking out 4 inches from the wall, an inconvenience in a small tub or a shower. When in either of these environments, the big negative rears its ugly head...the part that holds the shower arm is thin and flexible and any bump to the shower head (easy in a tight environment) will cause the "fingers" to flex, sending the shower head clattering to the floor.

2They have the right ideaJun 16, 2010

They have the right idea, but needs a little more work. The part that holds the shower head needs to be a stronger, less flexible plastic. I have no issue with it sticking out of the wall as another reviewer had said, and you can stop the loose rotating by turning the ring right behind the part that holds the shower head. My issue, however, is the "fingers" seemed to have stretched out over three days. Day 1-3 it held up the shower head no problem, but day 4 the shower head was no longer held securely in place. It is still suctioned firmly to the wall, and the adjustable part is just fine, it's the actual part that holds the shower head. I bought this because our shower head was put about 8 inches above the top of the shower itself, and being just under 5 feet tall, I had a problem reaching it. Also, with the shower head being so high, the water pressure seems to get lost. Again, this worked perfectly in the first few days, but now the grip around the shower head will not hold for longer than a minute or two.

5Everyone should have one of these.Mar 10, 2009

This is so wonderful! Not my little ones can take a shower in the bath tub or a bath, and i have a great place to hang the shower head when not using it. My tub is one of the old ones that has no trus shower so we have been using one of those converter faucets for years now that you screw the shower handheld onto. Now my kids can take a bath or shower and I can move the head to fit their size and if we have company it can be moved to grownup size. I love this!

5Great shower head holderJun 16, 2009
By Al Pine
This item is marketed to mothers that are bathing their babies.
Well I got it because I have Peripheral Neuropathy and Fibromyalgia.
Which means I have severe pain in my feet and lower legs all the time.
It hurts too much for me to stand up in the shower; so I have to sit down
while taking a shower. With this holder I can place it anywhere I want
and place the hand held shower head anywhere I want while I am sitting
down.
It's price seems a little high for what it is, but; I am glad I bought it
and it will make taking a shower much, much easier.
So in that respect...it is worth the money to make things easier for me.
If you are disabled, or handicapped in anyway; or know somebody that is...this would be of great use to have in your shower.

5Great Product! Can't Say Enough.Nov 15, 2011

Mommy's Helper isn't really the best name for this product.

I purchased this product because I needed something to hold my handheld shower head. I am disabled and have to sit when taking a shower. As anyone in the same situation knows, the typical shower is not designed for this.

I went to both of the big hardware stores and found those shower heads that have a sliding bar to make them height adjustable. I wasn't about to pay between $170-$200 dollars for one and then have to pay to get someone to install it. Just can't afford that kind of expense!

Mommy's Helper is a great product. It lets me put the shower head at the height convenient for me. I also like the fact that I can put it anywhere in the shower I need it. Love the adjustability of the angle of the Shower Arm. I can direct the shower spray where I want it.

This is the fourth one I bought. After I purchased my first Mommy's Helper, I bought one for a friend. Bought the third one for the second shower in the house. I bought this last one so that I would have two Shower Arms in my walk-in shower. One is placed so that it sprays on my back and the second one is placed so that I can focus the spray on my legs when the arthritis is particular bad.

The Shower Arm is easy to position on any hard surface. Make sure you have a clean, solid surface. I find that a little rubbing alcohol makes sure the surface is residue free.

I take Mommy's Helper with me when I travel. Works like a dream in hotel showers. The hotel industry has strange and varying ideas of what a handicap accessible bathroom is. I am always guaranteed to have the shower head where I need it.

I've used Mommy's Helper on tile and vinyl showers. If your shower is what I consider a soft vinyl enclosure, you need to find the spots where it doesn't flex a lot. This ensures the best suction hold. There's no problem with the really stiff vinyl shower surrounds. Hotel shower heads tend to be large and heavy. Haven't had any problems, Mommy's Helper has held them all.

Note: It will fall off at some time. In my experience all suction heads eventually lose their grip. I just pick up the Shower Arm and put it back up. I've only had this happen about 3 or 4 times a year. I don't consider this a problem. I can live with this minor inconvenience.
